Our Story
The Paris Institute of Childcare Training is the only early childhood training organisation designed for English speakers in Paris.
The Paris Institute, known as PICT, was the brainchild of Catherine Leroy and Virginia Bastide.
To understand the story of PICT, we have to look back to 2006, when Catherine founded the institute’s parent company, Le Répertoire de Gaspard, an English-speaking childcare agency servicing families in Paris.
Faced with a shortage of qualified English-speaking childcarers, in 2014, Catherine, alongside her Head of Recruitment, Virginia, founded PICT, a unique bilingual training centre dedicated to offering French apprenticeship programs in English.
Over the past decade, the Paris Institute has flourished, and now hosts multiple English-speaking childcare programs, as well as French language courses. The team has grown too, with our multi-national trainers maintaining our sector-leading standards.
We may have grown, but ultimately our objective has remained the same: to empower our trainees to improve their skill set and French level in order to enable them to obtain nationally-recognised diplomas and work opportunities in France.
